I do feel for those not enjoying the endless high noise to signal feeds, but up to a point.
A.I. only enables the less talented to achieve remarkable results. Go back 25 years or so when the vast majority of sophisticated spiel was crafted by human based spammer, or a small team of them, it was just as frustrating to realise the new member who joined, apparently mad skills with photoshop and a kick ass introduction throwing together a collage of images and deft background story ... for them after a few posts to slowly start flogging some product. One might have also figured all those magazine ads that seemed too good to be true to make money at home from a computer, might have actually been a pretty boring job posting at what ever message board they could find with a set of posts from a large catalogue of cultured spam. Then forwards a few years, mid 00s and the scripted bot had more or less taken over over with the abundance of open web forums where the concept or usefulness of user groups were more often than not, overlooked.

The TLDR is, it's basically the same - spam.
Reddit is a wasteland of:
1. Bots
2. Idiots
3. Stupid people
4. People airing their dirty laundry for all to see
5. People who are being abused by their parents/partners/other
6. People who shouldn't be on reddit
7. "Am I the asshole?" - Every thread invokes Betteridge's law
8. "Am I the only one?" - Every thread invokes Betteridge's law
9. "Rate me" - this was the only SFW picture I could find from my OF
(Tiny 10). Genuine small subreddits focused on a particular non-generic/non-cat topic with Real Humans
